I know... would be updated shortly...?? The latest news so far is rather a bleak one before Chiristmas,,, I won't get paid for the last 2 months labour services, it's quite feasible,,,, To get them onto my bank account, probably I have to take a legal action. Does Santa Claus really exist??

Ah OK. Hoegaarden (HO-GARDEN) is also really expensive in the UK.

Anyway, photos of fish and chips on your boggie? You haven't updated it in ages!

I started with a pint of a white beer whose name I never leraned how to pronounce - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoegaarden_Brewery
That was 900円. (The English colleagues went for COLD Guiness or some kind of Ale...) But that wasn't my white beer ! I used to drink another white beer that was avaialble (mostly out of stock!) at All Bar One! Can't remember the name again, but for me, it was more acceptable than any other sparkling drinks! Now, Sapporo Beer sells Guinness in Japan and the number of Irish/British style pubs are increasing there days. Fun.

900円 - even with the very favourable exchange rate, that's still £4. A pint in a pub here costs about £3. Still, I suppose they do have to transport it over there. Is it a pint of anything nice?

Last night, me, colleagues and clients went to british pub like place. After having a pint of white beer and gin tonics, we ordered Fish and chips.... quite nice actually... What a surprise, this pub served the vineger that Rich believes as the best. Malt vineger seemed a rare product for some people and no doubt taht they loved it so much!

Fumineko:

I'm a bit dubious about the vodka as well.

Supposedly it's to make the batter cook more quickly. The theory is that if you use water in the batter, then the water takes too long to boil away, so the batter doesn't cook quickly enough. Vodka (or pure alcohol) boils away much more quickly because it has a lower boiling point, so the batter will become crisper. I found that there was a slight taste of vodka left in the batter, which was unsatisfactory for me. Perhaps pure alcohol would work better, but then it's hard to buy pure alcohol in the UK (easy elsewhere though).

Vinegar: I don't like vinegar very much but if you like it, you should buy a good, dark, malt vinegar to go with fish and chips. This is the one that I use: http://www.britsuperstore.com/acatalog/Sarsons_Vinegar.html

Newspaper: How about using Egg?!

Wow, I didn't know that Vodka is used instead of vin blanc or sake!! (or is it simply for a drink?) Let's not forget VINEGAR--this is crucial, ask Yuko san, she loves particular brand, I guess.

Surely I can't get The Sun, but we have To-Spo. It's a kind of alternative!

Fumineko:

Why don't you make it using the recipe?! All you need is a cod fillet, some Maris Piper potatoes, beer, honey, vodka, flour, salt and pepper, and some vegetable oil. Easy!

You might have a problem finding a copy of The Sun to wrap it up in, for that authentic newspaper texture.
