Thanks for introducing this - I really enjoyed the programme except カブトムシ!I think we only keep スズムシ in the house, not any insects!
By the way, his Japanese was interesting - instead of いくら位?he said ぐらい、いくら? I wish English native speakers had such positive understanding towards our imperfect English! When we don’t understand a word, try to explain in other words, not just repeat it slow and loud - I can hear you!!!

スズムシ is an insect though? All ムシ = insects??
I didn’t spot that with his Japanese … But his Japanese is about my level, so it was quite easy to understand him. I think being English we expect everyone to speak English, mostly because almost everyone does.
Interesting TV programme anyway.
