Elderberries update

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

We went out picking the last of the season’s elderberries and brambles today. All good until it started to do this:

I spent about an hour during the rest of the day forking the elderberries off the branches, and the ones picked by Team Elderly-berry last week.

So here are the results.

Thanks to N-sama for the photographs.

This represents about 10% of the elderberries. We have a freezer completely full of them:

.. but who is this little fellow??

Snails are quite stupid, having just 11,000 neurons.

And .. Who is this big man?

And where is N-sama? MURDER??

Manic manic miner

Friday, August 29th, 2008

My cousin and I actually did Manic Miner in a whole weekend using an infinite lives poke and lots of reloading. But this is just ridiculous …

I love the way he does the Warehouse. IIRC we spent literally hours trying to work out that level.

(Nice bit of drama if you watch it all the way to the last level).

Elderberry crumble

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Thanks to Team Elderberry for picking elderberries and brambles to make this pleasant little crumble yesterday. Served with home-made custard. Let down a bit by the rubbish apples from the local store.

Sanshou onsen (thanks, Lady E)

Sunday, August 10th, 2008

We went to Lady E’s house today, and she gave us 山椒 (sanshou) a.k.a. Zanthoxylum leaves. Here it is, with tofu:

With Atari-ya’s sashimi:

Lady E also gave us a new desk. Haven’t tried it yet. Got to wait for the cowboys to finish.

Lego people

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

Rather excellent “Mii-like” tool for making people who look like Legos.

Can you guess who these people are?

“Text” should say something else ??

Looks a bit like a junky:
